Description Explosives being dangerous in nature, they need to meet statutory requirements for safety during their manufacture, storage, transport, handling and usage. Different countries have different rules and regulations governing the safety of dangerous goods including explosives. United Nations (UN) scheme for classification of dangerous goods is a concerted effort towards harmonization of standards for safety during transport of different types of dangerous goods. As nowadays many countries around the world follow this UN classification for transport of dangerous goods including explosives, India also have to adopt the UN classification for export of dangerous goods including explosive products.
