Description This paper deals with a water resource accounting aspects for Walayar limestone mine. The open pit mine located in Walayar watershed. Water quality of the pit water was found to have slightly high coliform content and facially contaminated. Therefore, the pit water should be properly treated if this water is to be used for drinking purpose, the maximum requirement of water for various purpose in the mining area is estimated to be around 55000 L per day. The water demand is met by tapping ground water resources. With the implementation of the effective control measures. The mine would be deepened, without creating significant impact on water resource of the region.
