Description |
The gradual depletion of high-grade iron ores have been necessitated the exploitation of low/off grade iron ore reserves of India. The main impurities dominating the Indian iron ores are SiO2 and Al2O3 which should be reduced with an economical method of beneficiation. Iron ores contain very high amount of silica and alumina which is crushed by the jaw and roll crushers to prepare different particle sizes fractions of iron ore. The initial characterizations of iron ore are carried out before size reduction. The samples are subjected to jigging and shaking table processes for separation of SiO2 and Al2O3 from iron ores. The operating variables use to determine the effectiveness of jigging and tabling process includes particle size fractions, pulse amplitude, tabling variables (slope and strokes of table) and time. Recovery of iron values and the separation efficiency are assessed by determining the percentages of iron (Fe) in concentrate, middling and tailing.
