Description Effect of temperature gradient and antisolvent has been studied for the extraction of benzene with sulpholane from a model mixture of benzene and heptane. The experiments were performed on a packed column under isothermal conditions and temperature gradient of 40°C and/or antisolvent. The use of temperature gradient generally increases raffinate purity at the cost of extract purity while the effect of antisolvent is just the reverse.
